Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

He said that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
